Puffins were super excited to see the arrival of our first few chicks. The children enjoyed looking at the information books and Forrest recreated the first chick hatching.
The children were amazed at how much they have grown when they came down to the classroom. One of the chicks was not particularly happy! Check out our photos to see his grumpy face!
We first observed the chicks through the box and talked about the body parts and the children couldn’t believe how many feathers covered their little wings. The children then got to hold or stroke the chicks if they wanted to. Some of the children came up with some great names for the chicks Anaya said “We could call her Sunshine Rainbow,” and Mason said “What about yellow?”.
This week in maths we have been learning all about ‘Greater than, less than and equals to’. The children enjoyed listening to the ‘Greater Gator song’. You can use this link at home, you will love it!!! Number Gators (Greater Than, Less Than Symbols Song) – YouTube

The children have drawn part of their face in the style of Vincent Van Gogh today. They got to listen to some instrumental music as he drew.
