The children have enjoyed painting their clay plaques. We think they look amazing! Well done Puffins. We have also been drawing pirate ships and painting them in the style of using water colours.
Puffins have loved completing a science experiment this week. They worked in their table groups to see which materials were waterproof and which were absorbent. The children then filled out a table with their findings.
Ahoy there!!! The children have loved learning all about their new topic… PIRATES! We have been looking at facts about pirates focusing on ‘Black Beard’ and ‘Ann Bonny’. We even got to ask a couple of cheeky pirates some question.
In maths, Puffins have been learning all about the time. They learned about he hands on an analogue clock and how to read ‘o’clock’ and ‘half past’ times. They have been busy sequencing events of a school day, the days of the week, months of the year and also explored seconds and minutes on a stopwatch. Goodness, we have been busy!!
In PSHE we are learning about taking care of our teeth. The children watched a short video on mouth hygiene. We then discussed as a class why it is important to take care of our teeth and wrote some of their ideas down as a brainstorm. The children sequenced how to brush their teeth and then had a go at following their own instructions.
In computing Puffins have been exploring the school website. They have also had the opportunity to leave a comment. Check out our class blog to see what they had to say!
During our Phonics lessons we have been consolidating. The children have really enjoyed playing lots of games such as ‘Snakes and Ladders’, ‘Frustration’ and ‘Roll and Read’.
