Continuing our fantastic Arts Week on Georgia O’Keeffe the Puffins have been working together on a mural piece using Georgia O’Keeffe lily paintings. They have also done some watercolour paintings of lilies and created their own flowers using pipe cleaners all ready to be part of the art exhibit tomorrow.
As part of Arts Week, Year 1 Puffins have today been using digital media to add affects on our focus artist Georgia O’Keeffe’s drawing.
The children used a website called Pop Art Studio to add various effects to a flower drawing by Georgia O’Keeffe.
The children learned quickly how easily and quickly effects can be applied to an image.
Here are some examples of children’s work.
Wow! A colourful start to Arts week. Today the children have learnt about our focus artist Georgia O’Keeffe, a fabulous still life painter who loved to painter landscapes and flowers. The children created their own version of a lily using tissue paper.
As part of our instruction writing the children learnt actions to a recipe and wrote it independently. Yesterday the children did a fantastic job making their own vegan cakes and edited their recipe as they went. Fantastic baking Puffins!
As part of Science, Puffins have been learning about materials. Today they have been exploring the properties of different materials and discussing what materials would be fit for different purposes and why.
Today the children have been discussing what our value word courage means and times they have been courageous.
As part of our new English topic we are learning about instructions. Today puffins have learnt actions to a simple set of instructions and taught them to their partners to make pirate hats.
