Puffins continued to learn about animation today with Mr Baddhan. They used Pivot Stick to create frames to make their person run from one end of the screen to the tree. Some of the children even managed to get their person to drop on the floor when he hit the tree.
Well done Puffins, some excellent understanding of animation.
Puffins have had a busy start to the week. In Maths today we did lots of activities based on direction.
The children learnt how to guide their blindfolded friends around objects outside using the terms forwards, backwards, left and right. The children then used the Beebots around a course giving the Beebots the correct directions.
In the afternoon we had a special visit from Phil at Peacemakers. Today and every Monday afternoon Phil will be coming into Year One to work through his fantastic programme, playing games and different activities to assist the children their listening and speaking skills and their all round confidence. The children had a wonderful time joining in today passing the flower pot round the circle without using their hands.
This week we have been learning about Position, Direction and Time. In today’s lesson we recorded how many activities we could complete in a minute. Puffins class really understood how long a minute was when they sat in silence and tried not to laugh! The activities we completed was how many times we could write our name, how many laps of the Key Stage 1 playground, how many times we could count to 20 and how many times we could touch our toes. After we collected the information in Computing we created amazing bar charts using Purple Mash.
